Facilities Assistant - Seasonal

Job Description
The Facilities Services Series is responsible for providing cleaning and grounds keeping services for County facilities by following established standards and procedures. Responsibilities may include assisting with cleaning and sanitizing floors, walls, ceilings, and furniture; cleaning bathrooms and elevators; performing snow removal and salting duties; mowing; recycling; and maintaining custodial supplies.

Performs custodial duties, to include replenishing paper supplies, towels, and soap; dusting; mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming floors; performing snow removal and salting duties; mowing; emptying trash and recycling applicable waste; and/or performing related activities.
Performs a variety of custodial sanitizing duties, which includes cleaning and disinfecting floors, windows, sinks, counters, shower areas, toilets, water fountains and other fixtures, elevators, and other assigned areas.
Monitors available custodial supplies and notifies higher-level staff when stock levels reach specified levels.

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Must follow all county safety rules.
Must be able to adjust to flexible hours and days.
Must be age 18 or older.

High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Previous maintenance experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Positions in this class typically require: climbing, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be exposed to hazardous physical conditions, such as, mechanical parts, electrical currents, and vibrations; atmospheric conditions, such as fumes, odors, gases, and poor ventilation; hazardous materials, such as chemicals, blood, and other bodily fluids; and extreme temperatures.

$15.23 an hour
This position is seasonal, working in our Maintenance Department during the summer.
Approximately May 15th - October 30th.
