Facilities Worker

Job Description
To perform the custodial, maintenance, and grounds-keeping tasks required to maintain the courthouse, Law Enforcement Center, Family Services Building, and the MN DOT/Meeker County Transportation Building. Also performs limited maintenance work at the Heartland/Food Shelf & Clothing Center, and Impound Lots.

1. Performs all cleaning duties including washing and scrubbing floors, walls, windows, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, cleaning and supplying bathrooms, etc.
2. Performs a variety of ground-keeping duties including snow removal (both by tractor and shovel), maintaining the parking lot, mowing the lawn, trimming trees, etc.
3. Performs routine maintenance on the building, including caulking, patching stucco, and making minor roof repairs.
4. Performs routine cleaning and checking of County car and arranges for servicing, and ensures that it is road-ready.
5. Performs routine maintenance check-ups and repairs on boilers, air conditioners, fire extinguishers, fire alarm system, clock system, generator, water softeners, pneumatic's, motors, and custodial equipment.
6. Lock up the building’s, make sure they are secure, and shut lights off.
7. Occasionally required to be on call to perform duties after hours.
8. This position is subject to a criminal background check.
9. Perform other duties as assigned

2. Ability to determine cause of malfunctioning equipment.

4. Ability to work independently in performing routine tasks.
5. Ability to operate and perform routine maintenance on simple custodial equipment. 6. Ability to perform routine cleaning, checks and tests on heating, air conditioning and pneumatic systems. 7. Skill in performing routine house keeping and grounds-keeping tasks

Previous maintenance experience preferred.

Language Skills:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.
2. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.

Reasoning Ability:
1. Ability to communicate and deal effectively with a wide variety of people
2. Ability to determine the cause of malfunctioning equipment.
3. Must be able to work without constant supervision

5. Ability to climb tall ladders.

State boiler’s license is preferred or required to obtain within the first year of employment.
