October 29, 2018
The Litchfield Area Community Foundation is accepting grants for the next year. The application deadline is March 1st of 2019.
Foundation Board member Darlene Kotelnicki says projects seeking grants should improve Litchfield in the areas of arts, culture and humanities; health and safety; at-risk youth; youth development; and club and booster organizations. She says proposals not funded include things like religious or political activities, debt reduction, operating support, on-going expenses or research. Applicants must be non-profit organizations.
Board member Alison DeWolf says the Litchfield Area Community Foundation started in 2002, and by 2007 had reached a goal of raising $100,000 to begin an endowment fund; and from 2008 to 2014 awarded a total of $20,000 to area organizations. She says the Foundation is an affiliate of the Southwest Initiative Foundation. Application information is available at the Litchfield Chamber of Commerce office at 219 North Sibley Avenue.
