About Us

Hicks Bus Line has been providing safe and cost-effective school transportation for Litchfield Public Schools since 1948, when Charles and Mary Ann Hicks started their bus business with two buses and two panel-vans. In the late 40’s and early 50’s, there were twelve school bus contractors who each served one “country school” by transporting those high school students to Litchfield High School. As the country schools were closed, Charles and Mary Ann grew their company by purchasing the bus routes from other district contractors. Lyle Hicks joined the company in the mid 1970s, and became the owner in 1984. Today, Hicks Bus Line is the sole provider of student transportation services for the Litchfield Public Schools.

Hicks Bus Line is fortunate to have Roxanne Godejahn as the manager of drivers, daily activities and scheduling, and Brian Lawrence as our dedicated school bus trainer. We are very proud of our highly experienced and trained school bus drivers, some of whom have over 30 years of school bus driving experience. Extremely low driver turnover provides for an exceptionally high level of service and safety. We also employ full-time mechanics who work in an on-site maintenance facility. All buses are stored indoors to ensure that they are always ready to transport children, regardless of the weather.

Hicks Bus Line provides regular to-and-from and special-needs school transportation, public transit services, and public charter.
