About Us
We provide shelter and care for strayed, abandoned, and injured animals until a permanent home can be found.
The Humane Society of Meeker & Kandiyohi Counties (HSKMC) is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to assisting abused, neglected, abandoned, and stray animals. Additionally, we aim to educate the community on responsible animal care and encourage the spaying and neutering of companion animals.
Our Mission
The Humane Society of Kandiyohi & Meeker Counties believes there is a unique and reciprocal bond between humans and animals that can be a vital and positive influence in society. Because of this belief, we provide a safe and sheltering haven for lost and abandoned animals pending placement in a suitable permanent home. We also promote responsible care and training for household pets through education and public awareness.
We depend on the unwavering support of our volunteers and donors to protect the animals of Kandiyohi & Meeker Counties. Our mission encompasses aiding stray and abandoned animals, as well as educating the community on proper animal care and the significance of spaying and neutering.
In 2009, we realized a long-held dream with the opening of our new shelter, allowing us to care for even more animals and broaden our services. This facility truly represents a milestone for us, and it is essential that we utilize it effectively and thoughtfully. Our members are crucial to the success of the Shelter. Thanks to the generous contributions from our supporters, we can provide shelter, nourishment, and affection to animals waiting for a home.
