First District Association is a dairy cooperative that manufactures wholesome dairy products from high quality milk supplied from our family farms located in Minnesota and Wisconsin. We operate several manufacturing facilities on-site with state-of-the-art equipment.
The primary role of the Electrical Technician is to assist in the timely completion of predictive, preventive, and emergency control systems repair in a food production environment. The Electrical Technician will respond to unplanned breakdowns with a sense of urgency and demonstrate proficient troubleshooting techniques throughout all areas of First District Association while working in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. This position also aids in new installations of electrical equipment and maintenance of existing plant equipment. This position will work 12 hours shifts, 6 PM to 6 AM, on a 2-2-3 work schedule. We work in teams to ensure safety and security.
Position Responsibility: 6 PM – 6 AM, 12 hour shifts, 2-2-3 work schedule
- Diagnose and repair electrical related problems with plant equipment.
- Wiring with threaded conduit and installations in a dairy environment, with trouble shooting electrical problems in the field.
- Work with outside contractors and system integrators.
- Provide support to the maintenance department.
- Install electrical equipment and systems as directed by Master Electrician or supervisor.
- Field instrument (flow meters, density, pressure, level, RTD’s) evaluation, repair and replacement.
- Assist in networking of all plants and data collection / management.
- Responsible for maintaining food safety and food quality standards and reporting any issues to the quality department.
- Work with instrumentations and controls to maintain plant automation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / requirements:
- Minnesota Unlicensed Electrician or Class A Journey worker License required. Master license is preferred.
- Experience in industrial / commercial wiring and installations required.
- Experience in a PLC / instrument environment a plus.
- Team oriented.
- Good people skills.
- Self-motivated.
